  • “Reed Bentley is the most helpful and fun drum teacher I have worked with. He is gentle in his approach and very willing to answer questions. Reed is knowledgeable about all types of drumming and good at teaching proper technique. I’ve been performing as a drummer for about fifteen years and Reed is the fourth drum teacher I’ve worked with. He understood what I needed right away and helped me meet my challenges and to become a much better drummer. Working with Reed made drumming fun again.”

  • “We would strongly recommend Reed to anyone who is interested in taking drum lessons! Our middle schooler has been taking lessons with Reed for about a year and a half. He is such a fun teacher, with genuine enthusiasm for kids and teaching, and our kid always looks forward to his lessons. Our son has grown immensely in skill and confidence in his musical abilities, as well as overall self-confidence. He has been able to play alongside older kids for the youth symphony orchestra and marching band events, and was able to get into jazz band earlier than usual at school. Reed has been amazing as private instructor and leading sectionals at band camp as well. We really appreciate his expertise, and it has been a huge benefit that Reed looks for other opportunities for kids to play in the community. Our kid is learning the fundamentals and proper techniques for percussion and drum set, and he has really developed a love for playing music. It has been time and money very well spent.”

  • My son, Arikoa, has been taking drum lessons with Reed weekly since he was in 4th grade. He is now a freshman in high school, and his drum lessons continue to be the highlight of his whole week. We first got him into drum lessons when he was 5 or 6 because he had selective mutism. We were looking for a way to help him express himself. In the years that he has spent learning from Reed, he has gained so much confidence. He has joined Reed drumming in community events, stepping way outside his comfort zone. We all know getting teenagers to talk about their days can be tough, but the second I pick him up, Koa is talking non-stop about what he and Reed worked on that day, and he’s so animated and lit up. Thank you, Reed, for giving our son this amazing gift, nurturing his talent, and being an amazing mentor to him.
